All About Reaching Out MBA
Reaching Out MBA is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering LGBT+ MBA students and graduates to become leaders in business education, the workplace, and society. Through its year-round events, the community aims to educate, motivate, and unite lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender graduate business students and school organizations. The annual Reaching Out LGBTQ MBA & Business Graduate Conference, which takes place every October and brings together over hundreds of LGBT+ MBAs and other business graduate students, as well as over 90 corporate partners, is the centerpiece of this programming.
ROMBA was first granted non-profit status by the IRS in 2004, though the annual conference has been going on since 1999.
Reaching out MBA is the largest and most well-known group dedicated to assisting LGBT+ MBAs. Its purpose is to educate, inspire, and connect MBA students and alumni to strengthen the influence of the LGBT+ community in business.
The ROMBA LGBT+ Fellowship collaborates between Reaching Out and major business school programs to create tomorrow’s out LGBT+ and active ally business leaders.
Each Fellow will receive a grant of at least $20,000, as well as access to exclusive leadership seminars, including an all-expenses-paid retreat.
Fellow MBA applicants must register for the FELLOWSHIP RETREAT, which is hosted by ROMBA and attended by 64 B-schools and provides various scholarships and grants to the LGBTQ+ community. This is considered a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for all scholarship winners to meet and form a strong LGBT+ network of peers from around the world.
