WELCOME TO MBA&B

WE ARE NOW LISTED ON POETS&QUANTS

The LBS MBA is aimed at people who have gained some high-quality work experience, but who are at a relatively early stage in their career. It is suitable for people who want to increase their knowledge of business and management to: – enhance their existing career and accelerate their promotion prospects – change career by changing function, or industry – start their own business. The highly international nature of our programme will appeal if you are looking for a career with international mobility. Above all, the MBA prepares you for general management with a global outlook rather than US-centric or Euro-centric one.

WHAT DOES THE APPLICATION PROCESS LOOK LIKE?

Candidates submit their written application including test scores, transcripts, essays and letters of recommendation. Once the application is complete, it goes through a thorough review process by admissions staff. After the review, the selected candidates are invited for the interview.

WHAT IS THE ACCEPTANCE RATE AT LBS?

LBS hasn’t released any recent data for applications vs admit offers to their MBA program. However, past numbers derived from Poets & Quants suggest that LBS is slightly more generous with admission offers as compared to other B-Schools that also rank well. LBS usually admits around 20% of the applicants each year.

WHAT ARE THE DEADLINES FOR LONDON BUSINESS SCHOOL’S MBA PROGRAM?

LBS accepts applications in 4 rounds: The Round 1 LBS MBA application deadline is usually in September. The Round 2 deadline is in January. Round 3 in March and Round 4 in April.

MBA admissions tips

Essay(s): Sometimes candidates overthink the essays. These are not trick questions, there is no hidden meaning, and certainly no ‘right’ answer. The best response is the one that is authentic to you! Before starting to write the essays, it is essential to understand the gaps in your profile that a B-school will help you fill, and have clarity on why you want to go for a certain B-school. Get familiar with the core values and culture of the school and try to see how you can fit in well.

Interview: Applicants who can articulate why they are specifically interested in a B-school and how it’s culture appeals to them will be best prepared. It is important to align your values with the school’s (which you would do while writing your essays) and highlight the same with examples in you.r interview

Letter(s) of recommendation: The purpose of LOR is to provide a strong premise to your essays. Do choose recommenders who can share specific examples about your background, achievements, contribution and impact to the organization. Don’t choose recommenders based purely on title.

CV/résumé: The résumé is often the first document that admissions officers review. It provides a snapshot of your candidacy in one page. Take the time to clearly articulate your accomplishments, highlighting the skills or experiences that are most relevant for business school.
