AVI GEORGE VARGHESE

INSEAD

Avi completed his undergraduate studies with a Distinction in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from Pune University. Post his undergraduate studies, he joined the Officers Training Academy in 2012 and was commissioned into the Corps of Signals of the Indian Army in September 2013. 

In his 10-year military career, he led diverse teams ranging from 25 to 150 personnel in India’s Northern, Western, and North Eastern sectors. As a combat communicator, he has executed numerous military assignments in the telecommunication and cyber security domains in time-critical and resource-constrained environments in some of the most challenging terrains. He has also completed a 6-month fully immersive business management program for Armed Forces officers at the Indian Institute of Management in Mumbai.

Avi was able to get admitted into INSEAD, IESE, and IE Business Schools with scholarships.

As a keen footballer, he has represented his school and college teams at various levels and has participated in the military championships. In addition to football, he also enjoys hockey and swimming. Avi speaks four languages fluently, enjoys playing the guitar, and is an avid reader.
